Today's Look-Oversized Knits & Camo Skinnies

Hey dolls! Today's post is about how to transition those comfy oversized knit sweaters to a more of an evening look! It sure is getting chilly out and with El Nino "on it's way" (so they say..) nothing is more cozy then a chunky knit sweater. However, what's a girl to do when she's got a date with her boo? ACCESSORIZE! Simply throw on some sexy heels and a great statement jacket and you're ready for a night-out, while still keeping warm.

For this post, I show you two different ways styles to rock an oversized knit. For the first more "urban" look, I paired it with an extra long beanie (My boyfriend's) and some high-top sneaks (my fav) You can even wear it with some cute ankle booties if sneaks aint yo steez. I'm loving this black cable knit sweater with the sexy see-through detail.

2nd look is much more classy meets edgy. I chose to keep the grey camouflage skinnies because they are such a great neutral (remember camo is a neutral! Kinda like leopard;) but still add a pop of subtle pattern. I also accentuated the ankle fit of the pants with some sky-high cage heels. The moto jacket is great mid-length for the longer knit sweater, and adds a great mix of texture with the leather (Faux of course) *Side note- This is the jacket from my previous "faux fur" post. The collar is removable! We love two-in-one jackets!!

Last but not least, the best part about this look is..it was on CLEARANCE! (yes, music to my ears) I purchased both sweater and pants for less then $40 each from Express!! ( their black friday sale is amazing)

Remember, your wardrobe is not as "boring" as you may think it is. Just don't be afraid to mix and match!

Today's Look-Boyfriend Jeans & Random Tee's

Happy Saturday ladies! Cheers to the weekend and this classy/effortless look. I must admit these are my FAVORITE boyfriend jeans and I have practically been living in these babies since I got them. Usually I don't opt for lighter denim jeans because they can make your thighs look bigger, but this pair really accentuate my accents ;) I'm in love the skinny cuff around the ankle too, which looks super cute when wearing heels!

I'm also loving this blazer I picked up from H&M (yes, you can wear white after labor day) This light weight jacket is perfect this weird in-between summer and fall weather we're experiencing.
If you want to dress this look up a bit more, switch the jeans out for a darker denim, or my fav, faux leather skinnies.

Today's Look- Who Wears Short Skorts?

Today's look is all about the two-in-one garment, the SKORT. While practical and sexy, this skort I picked up from Express (the whole outfit is from Express, actually) is great with a pair of flats or sandals for a lunch date with the girls, or throw on those sexy pumps and get ready to paint the town red. I am IN LOVE with this fuschia color, which I don't really have much of in my wardrobe. I believe it also comes in a cobalt blue.

You can even pair this with a cute random tee and a blazer or cardigan for a more conservative look. (If they allow shorts at the office) I also love that it is asymmetrical which gives it great shape and demension. I paired mine with a *crop top (oh, how you know I love those crop tops) because it sits high enough on the waist so you can show just the right amount of tummy.

Today's Look- In the Nude

Ok, so I'm not actually "nude" but I'm LOVING this sexy little two piece number I got from J Bee boutique. I'm currently obsessed with crop tops and this nude color makes for a chic silhouette that is so versatile. (Just wishing I was a bit more tan :) Perfect look for girls night or date night ;)

Today's Look- Midi Mix&Match

This season I fell in LOVE with the high-waist midi skirt. I chose this one in particular to blog about because it's so versatile and can be worn in many different styles..(i.e. elegant, girlie, rocker) With a full midi skirt like this, just mix and match different styles of tops and shoes to completely change the look. Here are few of my favorites!

**FAB FIND** These are my all time favorite cage heels. They remind me of a witch (which is a bit weird, I know) but they are super comfy and I purchased them from a store that was going-out-of-business for only $20.00! (They lace-up in the front and zip-up in the back)

I would say this look best represents my style. "Classy with a bit of edge." I love the random Guns and Roses tee paired with the a-line skirt and a great chunky necklace.

How to Get the Perfect Winged Liner

Oh my goodness, I have been SLACKING in the blogging department. Sorry! Anyway, I have recently been asked by a few people to post a blog about how to achieve the perfect winged liner. I came across this great diagram (better than anything I could ever make) and it's a perfect demonstration of the easiest way to get this look.

     http://rockettqueen.tumblr.com/post/54267437587/winged-eyeliner-pictorial-steps

When doing your liner it's always important to start from the outside and work your way in toward the eye. (towards your nose)
1. First make a very small line angled toward the end of your eyebrow.
2. Next connect that line to the outer corner of your eye.
3. After that you can connect that line to the inner corner of your eye and setting desired "thickness"

** the bigger the eyes you have the thicker the line you can can have. However, if you have smaller eyes, then you may wanna make your liner much thinner so it doesn't over power the shape of you eye. I have very small eyes, so sometimes I like to draw my liner in, only to about the  middle of my eye and not drag it all the way in towards the corner of my eye. I think it make my eyes open up more.

Here's an example of how I do my liner.

You can achieve this look using any type of liquid or gel liner that you prefer. I personally use Mac's liquid liner in"boot black" which is a felt-tip liner that lasts FOR-EV-ER! (seriously, like almost a year)

Some may find it easier to use gel liner and for this I would recommend Maybelline's "Eye Studio." With gel liner the key is to make sure you have a very small angled brush

I believe this liner comes with a brush but if you don't like it then here are some other examples of what you should look for.

Most importantly.. PRACTICE, PRACTICE , PRACTICE! No one ever gets it right the first time. I, myself struggle to get it perfect but the more and more you play with it, the more it will become effortless.

Cheers, dolls!

Look of the Day- Pop of BLUE!

Today's Look is inspired by 9-5'er working woman. Just because you have to work in a cubical doesn't mean you can't look sexy (to a certain extent of course). And oh, you know how I love a "random tee." Especially when paired with a great pencil-skirt and heels. (however, you may not be able to pull off this faux leather skirt at the office. Don't wanna invite too many unwanted stares.) Also, if you invest in some great accessories you can really create an opportunity to jazz up your work attire. You don't have to spend too much either. (necklace from Forever21) A great statement piece like this can make your outfit go from okay to "hot damn, girl!"

On this day I was really feeling BLUE. The color. Not the emotion. This royal blue is really in right now and goes great with just about anything. Plus, it's super eye-catching! Make getting ready for work fun, and when you look good, you feel good, which can make those stressful work days go by even faster.

Look of the Day-Big Hoops, Red Lips, High Heels.

Currently obsessed with these pants! They are very similar to Harem pants (parachute pants) except these aren't as baggy. These are also high-waisted and form-fitted at the ankles. Bottom line-- they are super comfy and can be dressed up with a great pair of heels! It's like a night-on-the town in your jammies. (Please don't ever go out in your actual jammies) The top is a tight crop top that I just tucked in, to give it a more sleek look. You can also wear a baggy tee (tucked in) but I like the more fitted look up top (to keep your waistline visible) with the baggy bottom.
